Simultaneous conference translating explained
Why do we use Televic's Lingua and Aladdin simultaneous conference interpretation transmission systems. We use Televic because their equipment is European designed and made which for us means quality and therefore confidence that we can deliver 110% to our customers. #TelevicOrEqualSimultaneous translation or simultaneous interpretation is the descriptor we use when a speaker delivers an address and our simultaneous interpreter repeats the words 'simultaneously' into another language. Usually this translating is done from an interpreter's booth and the translator or interpreter listens to the speaker via headsets and speaks into a special push-to-talk microphone which is then transmitted by very secure infra-red or radio frequency to the conference or presentation's delegates.
PS - strictly speaking translation is for the written word and translated word for word from one language to another. Interpreting is called just that because the interpreter interprets what is being said and reproduces it with very little delay into another language. You try and speak in the same language as someone who is speaking to you repeating it simultaneously in the same language - not easy is it!
Eavesdropping? Not with infra-red. It uses our digital infra-red light for sound transmission - not radio waves.
Our digital receivers can also be used in broad daylight or under floodlights with no change in sound quality.
